What you writing for?

I write poetry to express myself through the writing tool with ink.

I like to tell people how I feel, so I write it instead of speak.

Poetry is a safe place to a girl like me.

I can tell what I want, and still be me.

It brings a smile upon my face.

I love the rush I get when I write words down and flow.

I love the feeling of making the room glow, by the words I spit, but although,

I have these wonderful feelings for my poems, I get lonely to.

Don't forget I write poems about the real stuff to.

About depressing thoughts and why I don't like myself.

Or about the times I wish I was somebody else.

I write poems about children going through ups ands downs.

Hoping one day they know they can wear a crown.

I write so the children starving will not lose hope.

And I'm not the type to sugarcoat.

But let me preach to the people who listen, futhermost,

My words are like lyrics meant to be heard.

And don't judge me before you do the research.

So, what you writing for?

To impress the judges and show my pride.

Or let someone else come and take my shine.

That's what I'm tryna do.

I write to empress people, and even when I'm through.

You will see that poetry is something that I am going to pursue.
