Amazing, to me, is how music can take you 

Places imaginations would go.

Whatever the theme, it begins with a dream

Its boundaries and limits not known.

Rather inspiring, to me, to hear

Those varying, contrasting styles ~

From opera to jazz, heroic and free,

Concertos to breakdowns to swing.

Not long ago, I heard a musician,

Jazz violin he played.

The solos, I just knew, he felt inside

He incorporated on those strings his own way.

I, as a musician, aspire to perform,

To give audiences a grasp for more.

To draw them in with every intricate pattern

And every strategically placed chord.

I would be wholly, totally humbled,

And honored to say in the least.

This scholarship would make my dream possible

To pursue a music performance degree.
