What makes me greet the day?

Arising every day

Beginning another day

Casually, the same way

Dismay not having its way

Elevated from the night

Forgetting yesterday’s plight

Giving way to the new day’s light

Heading to prepare for a future so bright

I greet the day each morning

Jumping out of my bedding

Knowing something big is coming

Learning every day for a future so promising

Making preparations for achieving my dreams

Nudging towards college it seems

Overloaded by various scholarship themes

Prevailing by all means

Quickly working and coping with stress

Reading hard and hoping to impress

Seeking a baccalaureate to possess

Taking on all my courses with finesse

Unfazed by the long process

Vigorous in my college prep

Without a doubt I’ll need help

Xanthic flowers express my pep

Yesterday gone with its schlep

Zestful and ready for the next step
