What is Love?

Love is cozy

Deep stares and naked bodies

As our bare skin touch

The warmth translates from your skin to mine

I find home right here, right now

Our souls do not fail to coexist

We could stay like this forever

Love is communication

“You have to talk to me”

“I don’t know what you’re thinking”

“Please say something”

The burning sensation at the back of my throat

Strips away my ability to speak

Tears are the only form communication I have

Racing thoughts, aching heart

You asks me to stay

So I do

And we talk through weak voices and long pauses

Then I leave

But leaving just doesn’t feel right without an “I love you”

To which you respond

“I love you too”

Love is timeless

The honeymoon stage is not infinite

Flaws and all, the feelings that possess my body remain unwavering

I find resilience in you and I

Even when the euphoria settles,

I can truly say

You are my forever

Hours, minutes, seconds cease to exist

as I lay beside you

Love is loyalty

Temptation is the poison we stray away from

Because I love you,

And you love me

Trust is the layer of love that bonds us together

The foundation of a successful relationship

Trust is fragile

Easy to break, difficult to repair

Love is naked

Because of you,

I no longer fear vulnerability

My transparency is exclusive to you

I tore down my walls,

Opened myself up to the possibility of unbearable pain

All because I love you

Love is beyond explanation

And that is all I have to say
