What Lies Ahead

Looking ahead, there’s so much the world holds for us

Pain and sadness, success and joy

Jubilant days and depressing nights

All depending on how long our hearts beat

But no one told me that time would move so slow

No one told me that time would pass so quickly

No one told me that time would jump out of my grip

And hit the floor with no hope of getting back

How am I supposed to know when it all stops?

It’s scary knowing that it can end within a second

That my future can be erased with no warning

When it was all I was looking foward to

Time is fragile, life is fragile

We must treat it with care

Don’t take advantage of something

That can be taken away as eaily as it is given

So everyday I will be patient

And water the body that I live in

I will let myself go on for another day

So that I can see more of what time offers me

It will pay off right?
All the tears I shed and the things I’ve lost

Because there is so much more to life

Than those short moments of pain

Okay then, I’ve decided

That I will let this life that I am limited to

Consume me whole and teach me what it can

And with it I will become who I am meant to be
