What "I Love You" Should Be

Because I love you, I will encourage you in all your wildest dreams;

Therefore, I will never tell you your ambitions are foolish.

Because I love you, I will not lie to you.

Our love won’t be treated like a game

My words will always be used for reassurance not manipulation

Because I love you, I’ll forever protect you from others, including myself and yourself.

Unlike your last lover, the only contact I’ll have with your face is when I’m giving you adoring kisses,

When you’re tearing yourself down, I’ll remind you why I fell in love.

When you’re doubting yourself or our relationship, I will tell you reasons why I stay

Because I love you, I will never force you

I will never command you to stay

I will never tell you, “you’re nothing without me,” because the truth is, I’m nothing without you.

Because I love you, spread your wings, and fly to your heart's desire,

Knowing that you’ll return to me

Whatever happens to us I’ll let you free

Because I Love You.
