I’m trying to write, trying to be poetic

Sarcastic, romantic, funny, inspiring

All things I’m not but can be

I’m just me and when I write that’s who I want to be

Words and the power of the pen are the greatest weapons I have

Moving the ink over the paper is my great escape

Release from incessant, noisy thoughts

To say that I express myself better is an understatement

I put myself out there

I’m exposed

My very essence and being are those words that I write

You don’t need to be any Shakespeare or Edward Allen Poe to be a writer

As long as you’re writing what’s in your heart with your own voice

Pick up your pen and write

They have no choice

But to listen to you

Awestruck by this wonderful, unbelievable creature

That is you
