What Happens To Poetry Unslammed?
What happens to poetry unslammed?
Is it frustratingly thrown away -
Like an unsolved anagram?
Or does it leave you raw and unsweet –
Like potato flavored jam?
Or does it make you want to throw up -
Like thirteen- day old uncooked lamb?
This poem must be good.
Like the early days of your childhood.
If you keep trying to slam it.
But damn it.
It’s still not being slammed.
Does it keep nagging you –
Like the voice of your dead gram’?
Or is it heard to reach and grab –
Like hitting a grand slam?
In the end
It’s gone and unspoken.
Poetry Unslammed.
