What Freedom Means

So many people see freedom as free.

To judge and be judged is just another free thing.

But if you listen, freedom speaks, and if you can imagine, freedom thinks.

And freedom gives light in the darkest of things.

This is the place where families have fought

The right to hate, have we not?

This is the place where rebels have died

Done with a king who served with pride

Free is the place thoughts can go

Emotions can rage

And noone will know

Freedom is the ability to change how you want

To be better, to have more, and have the opportunity to flaunt

This is a place where ignorance comes to breed,

Life forms letting themselves get trapped

And exclaiming "we're freed"

You are free because you have the choice to know,

The right to grow, and because of those who died to make it so.

This land of consumers, in my free mind's opinion,

Have wasted some freedoms that we have been given.

Freedom is the power to raise yourself!

To change the world and help your brothers

And make yourself the very best.

So if you find you are not one, longing to know,

Not longing to think, not longing to know more

Then ask yourself, are you free? Or are you just a waste

Of the Revolutionary War?
