What Do You See?

I think of you looking at me and what do I see?

I see fat and insecurities

I see me

I think of you looking at her and what do I see?

I see beauty and cute personality

I see her

But what really is seeing?

Is seeing looking at values and treasures or weaknesses and misfortune?

Or is seeing looking at hairstyles and nails or “beauty from within”?

But what really is beauty?

Is beauty the nice pretty soul hidden in everyone of this world?

Or is beauty a pair of nice brazilian hair and a pair of 5 inch heels?

I sure do not know but when I see someone

I see the good, the bad and the ugly

When I look at someone

I see a different way of thinking or expressing who they are

When I look at someone

I just simply see them

I see them beyond their fashion of clothes

Beyond the “standard” level of beauty

Beyond where their from or who they come from

If I can see them as that…

Why did it take me so long to look at myself as that?

Now I think of myself looking at the mirror and what do I see?

I see smartness

Determination

And a strong built african woman who will make a mark on this world

Now tell me

What do you see?
