what is the american dream part 2 (keep believing DREAMers)
Location
The Dream Act was 1st introduced in 2001
it has yet to be a law
undocumented students continue to be deny
like a father's disbelief to a woman telling him repeatedly that his son is his
if this becomes an actual law
it provides a pathway to citizenship
there are approximately 1.8 million undocumented individuals
who by the way are known as DREAMers
enter the U.S. under racial scrutiny
in this country's eyes clouded by judgement and ignorance
they assume that these illegal immigrants are
primarily spanish and asians
would you say the same if an immigrant was european?
hhhmmmmmmm..... ( i'm going to plead the 5th-for now!!!!!!!!)
they see undocumented students as solely immigrants
before human beings
individuals entered the U.S.
hoping to live this american dream
children unaware that they will not be able
to revision their history of adjusting their
immigration status as adults
you grow up in the U.S
attend school in the U.S.
speak english
more fluently than a kid 13 and still in the 5th grade
and yet, unable to attend colege
because of ineligibility status for free governement money
we call financial aid
unable to work legally in a country
one wants to call home
can you imagine what that feels like
imprison in a place with no bars
dark clouds of fear
for many years-why?
so their voices remain silence
nobody wants them to exercise their freedom
why? lies will unveil and the truth will set them free
voices are being heard with powerful narratives
commanding beliefs to speak out
convincing cries to live like human beings
and treat them maliciously like they betray
this country like benedict arnold
continue to fight
protest to the injustices
and stand up for you and your family
