What is Age?

I am 18 years old

But why does that matter

You subtract 10 and I’m 8 all over again

People always tell you to act your age

But no one told me that at 12 I was going to be scared of being onstage

And that at 15 I was going to be in such a rage

And no one told me that at 18 I was going to have to worry about making a living wage.

So what is age?

Act my age?

What do I care how old I am?

Just yesterday I was acting like a baby all over again

Act my age?

The ocean is old ass fuck and it will still drown you enraged

Act my age?

But for god’s sake everyday I feel so strange

It’s like I start all over again

Age is just inhumane

It’s like a timer that runs in our veins

And the closer we get to an older age the more we want to abstain

And all dreams become vain

And why?

All because of a thing called age

So what is age?

It’s nothing but a cage.

That tries to put numbers to each phase

As if we were living on a stage

Act my age?
Some people go from 20 to 80 and remain unchanged

And you’re telling me my life should be arranged by the age of thirty-eight

But age doesn’t go at my rate

Everyday I wake up it’s a new slate

So today I have been a live 6647 days.I am 18 years old

But why does that matter

You subtract 10 and I’m 8 all over again

People always tell you to act your age
