The Weight Lifted

Because you loved me
You held my heart captive
In an old chest in your room
There you just trapped it

Because you loved me
You hid me from your faults
With my heart in that chest
And the devil you waltzed

Because you loved me
You threw my life away
When I had nothing to leave for
It was guaranteed I'd stay

Because I love me
I broke the chain
That held me down
And caused my pain

Because I love me
I learned to grow
I learned to live,
Which seeds to sow

Because I love me
I'm not afraid
I don't back down
I speak my say

Because he loves me
He holds my hand
He makes me laugh
He's never bland

Because he loves me
I'm not his fool
I am his queen
On a pedestal

Because he loves me
He taught me love
What I feel from him
Once unheard of
