The Way We Change

How do you change the world
It's a question worth asking
back and forth we go
Are we right?
Are we wrong?
We don't know until we've done it
for our oppressed fathers
and our disgruntled mothers
We change the world
not by asking how or why
but by looking forward
and giving change a try
You'll never know what you can do
until it's over and done
You don't know the length of the battle you're waging
until it's already won
We change the world
by holding hand and hand
by giving sweet smiles
among broken men
by laughing with joy
and crying in pain
by looking up again
We change the world
with doing
with action
holding close to our hearts
a dream not so far
by reaching the unreachable star
We change the world
by believing in people
in hearts and in minds
in souls as in stature
believe in your brothers
and your sisters
and yourself
because the way we change the world
is with confidence
