A Warning for the Wishful

Location

If you asked me my true desire

My tongue would retract and my words would expire

Because when it comes to me and wishes

I won’t deny I’m superstitious

See I'm afraid that what you ask for you'll get

But not without more than you request

And much regret follows unwelcome surprises

Knowing greed is the source from which misfortune arises

This poem is about:
Me
My family
My community
My country
Our world
