A War Is Raging
A war is raging
A new kind of warfare
Not nuclear
Not chemical
Not conventional
But emotional
Our weapons of mass destruction
Aren't nuclear bombs
Or nerve gas
Instead they are blades
Ropes
Pills
Guns
Buildings
Our weapon is suicide
And we've lost control of it
It claims as many lives,
Every single day, as September 11th
The casualties aren't soldiers
Or foreign civilians
They are OUR fathers,
Our mothers,
Our brothers
Our sisters,
Our friends.
This poem is about:
Me
My community
My country
Our world
