The War for Love and Compassion
“Oh, say can you see by the dawn's early light
What so proudly we hailed at the twilight's last gleaming?
I see values once so boundless become finite
In the face of adversity of which America is teeming.
“Whose broad stripes and bright stars thru the perilous fight,
O'er the ramparts we watched were so gallantly streaming?”
To rebuild this country we must keep in sight
The fight for love and compassion that will be redeeming.
“And the rockets' red glare, the bombs bursting in air,
Gave proof through the night that our flag was still there.”
To make America great the nation must bury the bombs and foster care
About all people, all countries everywhere.
“Oh, say does that star-spangled banner yet wave
O'er the land of the free and the home of the brave?”
America’s flag will once again fly o’er the land of the free and brave
When her people learn to take love and compassion to the grave.
