War Horse

My silver cloak, like molten steel,
Draws swift the eyes of sons of men.
If ground is sea then I am keel,
And speed is well within my ken.

With strength of trolls my hammer strikes,
And sudden death takes my select.
The wars I love, and battle pikes
Excite my whetted intellect.

I hasten forth to join the fray,
My footsteps flecked with spattered blood,
The pain I feel seems far away,
Two hearts now fall and fail in mud,
As falling foul I crush one more.
