War (The Casualties and Truths that are not Spoken About)

Who is the victor when both sides had suffered casualties? Death looms the streets/and the ground is full with bodies that were far too young.

Bodies that were too small to carry a M16 are now covered in dirt never again to be seen.

Who is the victor when both sides had lost their sons? What anthem will be sung? Maybe one about how the country is so great, but not about the tragidies that happened in the reality of war.

I am no way a pacifist, but when I read about the young men who went to war never again to walk through their mom's front door, something in me just gets torn.

Why were they born? To die for a ''classified'' cause that the goverment is not willing to share.

I will never forget about the tragic history of the Vietnam war. America would not pull out troops for the namesake of ''America''.

Human lives became expendable making this country gamble with human lives as if it was a game of chess.

Unlike chess, in war, pieces (humans) cannot be brought back.

I do not have the answers, because I am only finite, but I cannot ignore the parents tears and screams that wail through the night.

Maybe these poems that I write in a way can bring some light to a dark past and to the many lives that was lost in the act of war.

This is almost a great piece of writing. I truly enjoyed it, right up until it got specific. My favorite part about poetry is that it leaves interpretation up to the reader.  "...the tragic history of the Vietnam war. America would not pull out troops for the namesake of ''America"..."

Decent, intelligent people can disagree about that war and the motives behind it, but in my opinion, that hard polarized stance just killed your poem and made it an opinion piece.

I get that it maybe opinionated, but isn't your view on my poem opinionated, too?
Some wars never are never explained and it leaves people questioning. The Vietnam war had no meaning to it. I read and watched movies on it. America did not pull out because they did not want to say that they lost, thus causing thousands of deaths on both sides. It was for their namesake.
