Wanna Get Away?

The get away of a life time

To travel for free without ever having to leave you seat

More comfortable than a plane ride

You can sit at the dining room table with a cup of tea

Or rest in bed with your blanket and coffee

No one to your left or your right to judge you

To have a bestfriend that you can always speak to

Anytime, Anyplace

To every sheet of paper and scraps that I have found on the street edge at the bus stop

The pencil shavings, eraser hair spread all over my shirt followed by ink marks to match the crayon colored seat on which i sit sunday after sunday

To every person the has looked over my shoulder and asked, "What are you writing?"

The quiver I begin to feel down my spine as the question is presented.

I am deep in my thoughts:  fear, anger, saddened and frustation

Oh how much I want to continue in my vacation

Pen pressed to the crumbled canvas where I spill my heart on

I turn around and answer, "Poetry."

This is simply what I feel about poetry. I am explaining what motivates me to write and why I write. I hope you enjoy.
