Wanderlust

You can find me in the field, tending to the cattle-

Exposed to the blazing sun,

Appeasing my father's wishes,

Making sure to get the job done.

It seems that there is more out there,

When I look out to the sea,

I watch the boats depating,

What does the future hold for me?

I've always longed for adventure,

Just wanting to explore.

The men are untying the boats from the harbor,

They're about to depart from the shore.

Seagulls are coming and going,

I stand envious by the pier,

Wanting to leave it all behind,

But something is keeping me here.

Who will gather the berries?

How will the crops ever grow?

The current is stronger than ever,

I wish that I could go.
