A Voice unheard

A Voice unheard

(Poem about conserving the environment)

Lord why seldom created me?

For shedding tears alone

For I being mother to man

My voice being unheard.

Green companions pierced to death

By cowardly unjust acts

 Rivers  turned black and pale

By mankind’s lust for more.

Heavens  I pity mankind for thee sake

For I wail and cry

Mankind for its hazardous deeds

Will perish a day there is no heed.

Skies disgruntled by man’s  soaring might

Leaving no space for bird’s flight

The lighter air with smoky dust

Mankind’s  breath is threatened must

Men of the past soared into the woods

To discover my pastures green

They knew my worth cared for me

As creations  of the divine

Oh man why have you abandoned the way

When nature held your hand always

Belittling the forests  and the rains

Are you not ashamed of your parting ways?

Wake up o man  time not still far

To stop me from my deadly fall

Take the road less travelled by

Leading to the mountains tall.

Seek and surrender to the nature’s call

The future lies in your hands all.

Hear the sound of the rising waves

A voice unheard roaring louder still

My heart wails for you my kith and kin.

Tune to the mesmerising bird’s sound

To heal my wounds deep indeed.

Grant o lord strength in my mind and eyes

Green mother earth my solemn delight

Let the rivers flow clean

To let future generations live and dream

Of a planet that is evergreen.

Let the birds spread its wings

In the paradise of nature dear

Plant a sapling nurture it green

For it represents a voice yet  unheard.

Of a mother who left no stone unturned

To put her  caressing hand on mankind  forever.
