Very Self: I'm born again

1 Peter 1:22-25           New King James Version

The Enduring Word

22 Since you have purified your souls in obeying the truth through the Spirit in sincere love of the brethren, love one another fervently with a pure heart, 23 having been born again, not of corruptible seed but incorruptible, through the word of God which lives and abides forever, 24 because “All flesh is as grass, and all the glory of man as the flower of the grass. The grass withers, and its flower falls away, 25 but the word of the Lord endures forever.”

Very self: I’m born again!

What does that mean? May it be completed in Spirit?

A new heart, a new life. Is that what it truly means?

A new master in my life as my will should be obedient

So all I am is made anew, but my soul, what will it be?

A mind that needs to become like the mind of Christ

This takes time, and I know it’s totally polluted

It only interprets what it knows or what it perceives

It is not dependable, and that’s is well concluded

The trouble is what it lets in and seemingly keeps out

Is that a matter of the will or what it wants to understand?

No mind should be misled by what is called emotion

Misinterpretation of the past and rests in what’s now in hand

One’s will is one’s very self and controls all other organs

And whosoever controls his will owns that man in full

If it resists the will of God, and it is as a formidable enemy,

As such, you will never find for there is where death rules.

The most vital part of the soul for sure must be the will

For here is where decisions of life and death are made

The mind can be wrong at times, and emotions can implode

But the will is irreversible after the actions that it takes

Serious consequences are involved, either right or wrong

Lasting effects will follow in directions not foreknown

But we will be held responsible for that’s well understood

Excuses are not excepted where ignorance is unknown
