The Vanished Reflection

Mon, 12/01/2014 - 00:58 -- kcm16

You are a liar.

All I can hear is,

“They want…he wants…she wants”

Where is the “I want?”

You have obtained more privilege and more knowledge,

Yet, you can’t help but jailed me inside your mind.

Act on other’s expectation, neglect your desires.

I can’t call you myself anymore.

Before you went out of your room in the morning,

You smiled and locked me inside.

When you returned to your bed at night,

Invisible tears sled down your cheeks when I was released.

Once upon a time,

You cried aloud and the tears washed away your concerns.

Brave and fearless; you spoke your mind.

You were my reflection—never afraid of being judged.

Alone at night now,  you wish

to scream at the top of your lungs,

to reject the requests asked by others,

to stop caring about others feelings and your family’s reputation,

to be selfish and self-centered,

to live for yourself and to never grow up.

You are aware that you are being judged,

your actions influence how others see you and your family.

You are aware that you cannot cry,

your tears will not make a difference in your situation.

You are aware that you will learn to move on,

for time will not pause for your agony.

Lock me up for the sake of your values.

say “no problem”

when I am frustrated and crying inside.

This is life and the process of growing up right?
