Values in me and you ...
Luke 9:25
25 For what does it benefit a person if he gains the whole world
but loses or forfeits himself?
Values in me and you …
A right word invested in thought of compassion
A whisper here carried by the winds of time
Directed and guided by one’s own passion
To infiltrate hearts of those really “Thine”
An echo wavers from another dimension
Hitting the senses that are seldom used
Breaking thro layers of self-made pretention
In the dark realms of chosen self-abuse
Words are just words but actions speak louder
Hiding the aches of uncertainty deep within
Trying to hide and escape reality’s power
Triggering your defeat for all to be seen
Your acting starts failing in a quiver of truth
Your life resembles an incomplete pantomime
All you achieved really does not mean a hoot
As you struggle on against your pitiful decline
Once a shining palace now just a house of cards
Written in silence with uncoordinated figures
Reaching and clawing as truth seems too far
As you’re losing grip of things you can’t measure
“Long live the King”, just words you now whisper
You have no clue in thought who He might be
Made up in your mind as you lick the kisser
Of the prince of the world as now you vaguely see
A life of ignoring the Hand that was oft reaching
To pull you from the mire and your chosen mess
That you loved so much as you listened to teaching
Of folks just like you who were blind at best
Blaming the world for your misconception
Floating on hot air in a self-made balloon
Looking down on others who were the exception
In a world lost in sin that you treated as a cartoon
The day is now ending and a tally is shown
Only to you and your own understanding
Things you knew and to others well-known
Are now exposed just justice demanding
No excuse can be formed by quivering lips
Your heart now off-beat in anger and fear
You could have been the example on this trip
If you had died to self in front of your peers
