The Value of Education

I am a poor girl who values education
I wonder why I cannot afford college prices in my nation
I hear the sound the voicemail “financial aid department”
I hope I can decrease my loans and afford an apartment
I want to earn money with creative dictation
I am a poor girl who values education

I pretend that private universities are not crooks
I feel the money I have begun saving for books
I touch the bank agreement for a loan repayment
I worry about growing old in my parents basement
I cry thinking of ramen noodles possible starvation
I am a poor girl who values education

I understand that eventually my future will be sunny
I say that one day I will make good money
I dream about a time when I have no student debt
I try to get scholarships so I do not have to fret
I hope I can receive a sufficient donation
I am a poor girl who values education
