Unspoken Speech

Sparkling silence is cast over a room

before the listeners start to swoon.

This poet reads her words so smooth

bringing back her own youth.

The words she says speak

of war, violence, children and life, shriek,

opening the eyes of so many

to both of death and life.

The unspoken speech of a still poem

that sits upon there screen or pages in a book

are there to revive the reals of life ignored.

In a restful state upon a page

a world is broken free from its cage.

So much damage can come from words

but sometimes silence releases life’s caged birds.

This poem is about:
Our world

Still words on a page are able to say more than some lifetimes of action.
