The Unseen

Day by day, I see a veil;

Not just any veil, but a force so powerful that many people misunderstand.

It blocks out the light of truth and honesty;

Yet brings forth the darkness of judgment and assumptions.

Day by day, you can see this veil;

Bringing no freedom, but in its place, social constructions of reality.

No one can truly escape it;

These dark clouds hover in every society.

Day by day, the veil gets heavier;

Showing the true misconceptions of individuality.

When will this force stop, one may dare to ask;

It will only stop when we learn to uncover our own veils;

Set aside the differences of hate and discrimination;

Stop judging one another on the basis of personal perception;

And learn to live in a world of trust, truth, and honesty.

Maybe one day, I’ll see that veil of peace.
