Unmasked

We wear the mask that grins and lies
It hides our cheeks and shades our eyes
But one good day we will grow tired
Of hiding our cheeks & shading our lies

Of brushing it off and letting it go
And let our beliefs & standards grow

One good day we will stand strong
And our picket lines will grow long
And none of us will feel alone
but only once we change our zone

Our souls are crying out for this
Our ancestors waited years for this

We must fight for all those oppressed
Standing together, strong, fearless
the call of the fight is no less
than the call of life in our chests

One day we will no longer wear the mask
that defined us by our ruthless past
