Unjust Trials

There comes a time in everyone's lives

They start anew

And rebuild their ideas of what is true

Us as kids, we’re all  to trusting

Whether it be friends or family, we’re open without worry

But what happens when it all fades away?

Those “Friends” who were like family, turn on you at any given day.

They don’t attack you directly

No, they go for what hurts.

Your father, a man of dedication to his family that provided through hard work.

You find yourself in court, sitting with anticipation.

Relying solely on the Judicial system’s “Honorable” reputation.

The verdict is given and your father is arrested.

An innocent man with no solid evidence against him.

Those “Friends” who were like family stare on with satisfaction.

Celebrating their victory with mocking laughter.

Who can you trust?

It makes you question.

The answer is no one.

This was my painful realization.

The event at hand forced me to grow.

Without my father

I bear the burden of my entire world.

There comes a time in everyone’s lives

They start anew

And rebuild their idea of what is true

I once trusted people but now I don’t

This is the result of a person forced into growth.
