Unholy

Aram Tawoosi

Free falling from the sky to your bed

How did I get here?

Your silhouette drilled into my head

Diving in the deep end with you

We’ve been sitting in this car for hours

You said, “tell me something random”

Boy, I’m too much of a coward

Going down a little bit lower

Then you crawled all the way into my veins

Said my name, now it’s too late

Found myself starting to cave

Intoxicate my aching brain

Now we’re starting to get a little unholy

Burning right up underneath your body

Grab my hips like they’re worth holding

I’m on my way to getting a little unholy

I said don’t trust a poet

Because we make everything more than it is

And here I am writing about it

Following the flow and

Then you found your way beneath my skin

Tearing me apart like linen fabric

Found myself lighting up

Now we’re getting sporadic

Now we’re starting to get a little unholy

Feeling something earth shattering

Still falling slowly

Been going in and between

And I’ll tell you again

Don’t trust a poet

Because we make everything more than it is

This poem is about:
Me
