Each story,

each person has a story,

and to listen to that story,

we must seek to understand.

 

"No lost generation",

to help as many to live,

not just survive,

to be safe at last.

 

And that is just it,

to listen,

to listen to the people,

and for me to remain quiet.

 

To be able to help,

and show them the pursuit of humanity,

to be there for one another,

and reach land safely.

 

There would be no barrier,

as we walk alongside one another,

yet it is not I who has done anything,

but those who are braving these trenches.

 

Yet, I want to help,

to guide,

to defend,

and give cause and reason for those who flee terrible circumstances.

 

Then perhaps,

with me listening to the stories of those,

who are walking forward to live,

we will build brighter futures together, no longer afraid.
