The Uncaged Bird

Freedom is not a word,

Is is not an emotional state.

It is a beautiful bird that cannot be caged.

There are many that will try to take it away.

They will burn it, humiliate it--and they'll even make it cry.

But no matter what anyone says, you hve to try

To make it because this world won't let you.

You will be stabbed numerously, viciously

So many times it'll stop the birds from singing.

But you cannot be that silent bird.

You must be the one that continues to fly, even when the wind blows west.

Peace and freedom cannot be separate,

Because without one, the other cannot exist.

You have to be the light that the world needs to see.

A bright light that even the sun cannot compete.
