Twilight

Isaiah 28:4 And the glorious beauty is a fading flower
Which is at the head of the verdant valley,
Like the first fruit before the summer,
Which an observer sees;
He eats it up while it is still in his hand.
  Twilight

Is there left a sign of life

or is death prevailing?

That a dying life and a living death

are walking hand in hand

The difference between the two

cannot be felt through emotions

It just compares day and night

in the twilight of a man

Years pass by a day at a time

but few folks are counting

Time seems to evaporate

into what could have been

The blisters and the scars

from the past are reminders,

that in a slot of time somewhere

division in self was seen

The young seem to walk about

on a sea of expectation

The old washed up on the shores

of their broken dreams

The will to survive

has too long been fading

Wondering about purpose

is all that’s left, it seems

“Where is your faith?” God mentions

“Where is your love for Life?

“Where’s your desire for righteousness?”

Why all the turmoil and strife?

Why not trust in Me My children

and not in your self-chosen mood

Remember the price I’ve paid in full

It is all for your own good
