Twenty Fingers and Twenty Toes

Location

She never saw it coming.

She lived life like any young girl would do.

Mom, is what we call her

Because then, there were two.

We were nothing alike.

She grew up to defend our Country.

We were total opposites.

I grew up to study something Funky.

She came to bare arms.

There was nothing scarier, I would know.

And so she came home.

Then there still stood, Twenty Fingers and Twenty Toes.

How do you understand such a bond?

It can't simply be taught.

But, when she is gone

her joy is my only thought.
