The Turning of Night to Day

I awaken to a world full of darkness and fear

I stare into the black abyss of the sky and land

and watch as people stand still  far and near

for it seems time has slowed where nothing moves not even a piece of sand

I feel despair that weighs me down

but then I a see bright light piercing the abyss

that makes a smile of my frown

and feels warm like a mother's kiss

The darkness and fear recedes

the clockworks that were once men start to move

I wonder if this means good will succeed

Surely only God can approve.
