The truth in poem

A friend or so I thought wrote a poem about me

A poem can say so much in a few words that brings you to your knees

In a poem I learned I’m cold, unforgiving, and ruthless

Those around me were hurting and I didn’t even notice

A prom taught me a smile on a face means nothing

beneath her smile her poem taught me she was crushing

A poem taught me I had fewer friends than I thought

I was cold and an ounce of feeling is all they saught

my friend wanted my love, she craved it

5 years I showed no love not one bit

she left me alone....

To remember her, her last words to me were in that poem
