"Truly Free"

I heard what religion was,

The definition was chains.

Putting limits on God

That hinders one from change.

And I said to my God,

Set me free!

Religion isn't what I want for 2016!

I loved God, yet I was blind.

Do this, Do that and you'll be closer to God,

Said my mind.

But, my Lord reminded me that the

Price had been paid.

His son bore my sins on a cross

So, I'd have life today.

Now, I know that I live by God's Grace

Its impossible to draw near to Him

By what I do or say.

I'll I can do is receive

Accept God's gift of life

And love him with all I have

I know now that I'm truly free

Despite my mistakes, my Lord will never leave.
