To Truly Be Heard

Everyone wants to be heard so they shout louder and louder
Till no one is heard at all
Our society creates a sound proof wall
Made of voices yelling
But ultimately failing to be heard
For the loudest voice
Belongs to the one in the back
With mind still intact
Thinking and knowing
With only poker face showing
For this persons
Actions are loudest of all
Their actions above all the rest
Well thought out stand up to the test
This one with a voice as quiet as a mouse
Shouts to the world
Come and see
For because of my ideas you will hear me
For the loudest person can sometimes be
The quietest person beside you or me
To be heard doesn't mean to be loud
But to show what you know
Even if you stand alone
To stand up for what you believe
To be quietly heard above the rest
For this is to truly be heard
Even if through no words
