Together

We chatted all through the morning
And shared stories over pastries and tea
Your quiet company I'll dare to admit
Made me quite happy

We traveled for a bit
Down the road, walking hand in hand
Flowers bloomed in the cracks of the sidewalk
And music flowed quietly from a nearby band

But as the sun grew hot, and we feared our perish
So, cold and kind drinks would be our help
But as I handed your glass to you
I found I had been by myself
