At times I don't remember

Proverbs 10:7 New English Translation (NET Bible)7 The memory of the righteous is a blessing,
but the reputation of the wicked will rot.
  Possibly

I guess I have not forgotten the condition that you are in.

At times I don’t remember, does that mean I don’t care?

If my thoughts are occupied or my mind is in the gutter

Does that mean that I am lost or that my heart is not there?

Did we get separated long ago by time, space and distance?

Was it worth it for me to move and leave the ones I loved?

Was that love replaced in kind by clinging to wife and purpose?

And whose children replaced all that I left behind there-off

The answer is bouncing in my heart and helps me to understand

that space and time don’t mean a thing when love is at stake.

You can be light-years away or just as close as next door

it’s neither here nor there, that counts it’s never on display.
