Time and time again

I get the same question:

"What do YOU do for a living, Ivy?"

God, it's such a difficult question to answer.

I'm something between a life coach and a best friend.

I help people with intellectual and developmental disabilities... I make sure they're safe from their behaviors (though I call them reality checks).

I can't stand when people say "Aw, you're such a good person."

Stop.

I don't do this for recognition, promotions, or raises. I do what I do because I used to be that person who would use the R word way too often.

I would genuinely take a bullet for any one of my clients.

You don't know the definition of unconditional love until you work with someone with disabilities.
