To Those Who Last Accepted Us

Here is a poem to the people who last accepted us. Our love lasted for the longest until you succumbed to their non-stop stereotyping. Like parents, you told us you accepted our ways, but now you are hoping this is just a phase.  Selling us pretty lies, hoping we won’t break. Well, let me tell you: we are not broken beings. We are not stuck in a hazy daze, confused by reality and what we make. Your plans for us are now clear: you want to take out our tongues until all we can do is hear your slurs, rejecting ourselves.
