Third Birthday

Cake, frosted like Winnie-the-Pooh,

Hot dogs, warm chili, cold slaw,

"Happy birthday!"

My brother opens my presents,

Toy dishes, Play-doh, a swing-set,

Mommy wants a hug,

I want to play,

Run from the sunroom,

"Come back!

Don't you want more cake?"

Of course I do,

I'm running back,

I eat Pooh's ear
