Things to Remember

You're an alien in your body,

The days where your outsides: the skin,

the hair, the teeth, the eyes, the nose,

don't belong to you.

No matter how you style, primp, and move.

Embrace it.

You won't always love you're body,

and that's okay. It's normal.

You don't have to love every inch of skin,

every tooth, every pore.

But pick a thing- or several- and love that.

Love the way your brows scrunch together when you laugh,

or how one ear sticks out more than the other.

Love once piece of yourself now

so you can love all of yourself later.

Fake it till you make it.

Look in the mirror and tell yourself you are:

confident, sexy, every variant in between.

Chant it in the mirror, as you make your coffee,

alone in the car as you drive to work.

Don't just say it, do it.

Wear what makes you feel good, something

to match your attitude.

If winging out you're eyeliner with red lips

is you're thing, do it.

If wearing you're old faded jeans with a few stains

makes you feel confident, do it.

The more you act it out, the more confident you will be.

Let yourself be hungry.

Want things when you don't need to.

You deserve you're wants.

It's human to want what you don't need,

do it, because you're only human.

Be selfish! And greedy!

Don't let a lifetime of no's stand in your way.

Scream 'yes' in your room till you believe it,

'I deserve this!'

Let yourself order pizza instead of a salad,

spend ten extra minutes in bed, stay up binge watching tv.

Want what you want- just in moderation.

Take a break.

Breath, unplug, relax.

Life is stressful, and sometimes it's manageable.

Sometimes you can get by.

And sometimes you can't. And that's okay.

Life isn't easy, it's not supposed to be.

Build a blanket fort and watch your favorite movie,

read a classic, make yourself a picnic to eat outside.

Remove yourself from your responsibilities.

It's okay to get over whelmed,

Give yourself a break when you do.

Love yourself.

Because you are not a fraction,

You don't require a half to make whole.

Make it your sole responsibility to believe it.

Wake up thinking it,

go to bed with the very same thought.

Any body can love you, and you will be,

you'll be loved by many.

But it's not their sole purpose.

They don't know how your heart brakes

or how it fits back together again.

There won't always be someone there when you fall and scrape you're knee,

to hold you're hand when you're scared.

People aren't constants. They move like the wind and water.

You are the only constant in your life,

so love yourself first.
