They Warned Me

They warned me you would leave,

But I did not believe.

They saw past your disguise,

Oh you were my demise.

Now I lie alone at night,

My chest is feeling tight.

My eyes are filled with tears,

How could you disappear.

Empty promises left behind,

My mind stuck in rewind.

Remember how we met,

Can’t help but feel regret.

You broke my fragile heart,

You tore our love apart.

They warned me you would leave,

And now I finally believe.
