They Say, You Say

The grass isn't always greener on the other side.
Or at least that's what i heard about a million times.
But weren't we put on this earth, to live and grow?
To not follow rules, and make mistakes as we go?
At least that's what i thought. But they say I'm wrong.
They say, "You either follow the rules, or find somewhere else to belong."
But I say, I must make my own rules.
Then pay the dues for the actions I choose.
Blaze my own path, find my own way.
Fight through the storms, for a brighter day.
So I will stand, bold and tall.
I willl be true to myself, even if I fall.
I will follow my heart and listen to my mind.
Excel at my dreams and let my soul shine.
I will be an example to those, whose eyes are on me.
To show them how to live and be free.
The grass isn't always greener on the other side.
But how would you know if you never tried?
