But they didn't know

Help up in her room,
No more time for tears,
Another fifth gone,
But it won’t numb her fears,
The words they said,
Even in the silence it’s all she hears.

He’s trying so hard,
To dismiss the voices in his head,
Everyone stops,
Judging the life he has led,
He’s doing it again,
Anything to prove he still bleeds red.

But they don’t know,
She hadn’t a choice,
Forced by his hand,
She was never given a voice.

But they don’t know,
He didn’t choose,
Born to a mother,
Who had nothing to lose.
