These Words of Mine

Words on a page
Letters on a screen
They are my every fear
My inner me

They scream what I cannot speak
They whisper every thought
They spill like ink
Spread like cancer

My demons taking shape

Should I refuse their existence
Should I bury them deep
They eat and gnaw
Like dog to bone

My demons and me

I spill these inner thoughts
To paper as blood to cement
They tell the world my truth
A side they will never see

Dare I admit what I think
Dare I say what I want
These words are my only hope
To keep them at bay

These inner demons in me
