There Was A Girl

There was a girl who shined so bright,

like a star illuminating the night,

casting light in her wake and shadows within.

She bore intelligence, independence, and beauty.

She bore talent, potetial, and humility.

She bore wounds and scars and insecurities.

She bore pain and demons and anxiety.

But she shone so bright they barely noticed.

Not until she dimmed.

There was a girl who shined so bright.

Now, she's fading.
